As expected of a Megaman series, Yuuma and Astral's combined form as 'Zexal' is not the only form they are able to take. Technically, Astral no longer has the three cards he could use to take the 'Star Break' forms--however, this is only because the cards are meant to only appear when he needs it most, and as the matter of the Numeron Code has been dealt with, there really isn't much call for them! (As it is, once the events of the second game start, the cards are unfortunately unable to appear due to a curious interference, or perhaps even a need for the three AM sages to keep as much as their power as they can.)

Nonetheless, these cards appear more commonly to Astral in the RP situation--though whether it's to good or bad effect is questionable.

Each card represents one of the three great AM Sages--Pegasus Magic, Leo Kingdom, and Dragon Sky. Each one has a different elemental ability--Water, Fire, Wood--and thus have their own advantages and disadvantages.

Notably, when the armor of Zexal is effected by these cards, one of his eyes changes colour. Additionally, his armor does more than simply adopt the traits of the Sages themselves, crests included; it seems even his hair and body is effected somehow! These differences and changes are noted below, along with anything that happens to Yuuma's own representation within the form. Hopefully, there will be art one day.

Star Break -- Forme TitlePower NotesChanges to AstralChanges to Yuuma
Pegasus Magic -- Crystal PegasusMany of his attacks are preceded or followed by Pegasus' 'crest'.
Able to float in place, but is weak to electric attacks.
Able to heal with Ice.
Left eye becomes more 'orange' than 'gold'.
Hair appears to be slightly more blue, and is longer near the back.
Visor glass is more of a teal shade.
Aside from this, he takes on Pegasus' colours, with the crest on his helm, and his armor has wings.
His head appears extremely more horse-like.
The spikes of his 'hair' are mostly drawn together to create 'wings', though his front two are still in-tact.
Leo Kingdom -- Arc LeoMany of his attacks are preceded, or followed, by Leo's 'crest'.
Weak to water attacks, but bears considerable force and strength otherwise.
Strangely enough, is actually very well guarded against physical attacks.
Left eye becomes completely blue.
Hair is wilder, and seems to take on more gold.
There appears to be a marker resembling Leo's scar on his face, and his skin is slightly darker.
Visor is stained violet.
Aside from this, he takes on Leo's colours, his armor looking more 'feral', and bearing Leo's crest on the right hand.
His head gains a distinctly leonine appearance.
The spikes of his 'hair' flare out more, resembling a mane somewhat. Even his front two spread out more.

Dragon Sky -- Tree DragonMost of his attacks are preceded or followed by Dragon's 'crest'.
Weak to fire attacks.
Considerably strong with 'ranged' attacks, and bears a heavy resistance to status ailments.
Left eye becomes a deep red.
His hair curls somewhat, and seems to gain a rosy undertone to it.
His visor is stained orange.
Aside from this, he takes on Dragon's colours, his armor appearing more 'defensive'.
His head resembles an asiatic dragon, as opposed to the western, 'pony-dragon' he is.
The spikes of his 'hair' curl slightly, with the top two barely noticeable, but the intensity becoming slightly more evident with the bottom ones.
Since Yuuma is Astral's 'left hand', Dragon Sky's crest is rather prominently placed on his forehead.

Many thanks to Gale (em-exceeds-change-zearu) for compiling this Glossary!

For the sake of keeping things simple, all names used will refer to the AU. Images however, will be from Starforce canon.

Unlike the Information Post, which details points about the canon Megaman Starforce Cast, this journal is dedicated to the Zexal characters which take their places, and the differences that they bear as a result--be it from Zexal canon, or Starforce canon.

As a whole, the AU is set completely within Starforce's world mechanics. Thus, Barians and Astrals do not exist, same as Dueling and Duel Monsters.

To preserve canon and au information, only the characters that Astral has met will be listed. This includes Rio's brother, Ryoga, despite the fact that he does not fill in any character slot from the Starforce Series.

Zexal MuseName Changes of Note
Role In AU/Differences of Note
Physical Changes/Appearance Points of Note
Astral'Astral Tsukumo'
Astral takes the part of Subaru Hoshikawa in the AU, thus becoming the main protagonist. He acts very similar to Subaru, due to being brought up similarly, though he retains Astral's eidetic memory, curiously enough.
Both of his eyes are gold.
Additionally, Astral is a human ten year old; thus, he lacks the markers and gems of his canon self, instead bearing pale skin, and an extended hairline, along with eyebrows and such.
Kazuma TsukumoKazuma takes the place of Subaru's father--and thus, is now Astral's father. As such, he's not an explorer by 'choice', persay, having been working as an Astronaut before he went missing.-------
Mirai TsukumoMirai takes the place of Subaru's mother, and thus, is now Astral's own. Unlike in the canon Zexal series, she's still very much present, and raising Astral up on her own.So as to make certain that Astral resembles at least one of his parents, Mirai has gold eyes; Astral's complexion and hair are thus blamed on a superficial pigment disorder.
No. 39 Kibou Ou, Hope'Kibou'
Kibou as he's known, takes the place of Amachi, the head researcher and founder of 'AMAKEN' (Now HOPEKEN). He acts as something of a father figure for Astral.
Taking human form, Kibou appears as an exceedingly dark-skinned man, with red eyes, and a shaved head. Though somewhat imposing (he's quite tall compared to most Japanese folk!), he gives an air of kindness.
Yuuma Tsukumo'Yu-UMa'
Yuuma, as he's known despite his 'real name', replaces 'War-Rock' in this AU, as one of the last AMians, and a formidable fighter. His name originates from the naming system used for stars of the Ursa Major constellation (Greek Letter designation, followed by 'UMa').
While he replaces War-Rock, he's notably more childish, and somewhat less inclined to be as vicious.
As an AMian, Yuuma very much resembles War-Rock. However, unlike War-Rock, his colourscheme is Red and Violet, with his head being slightly elongated for a pony-like appearance.

His claws make most associate him with dragons first, however.

When merged with Astral to form 'Zexal', Astral's hair only slightly dips toward the blond of the canon form of it, and his eyes are both his own. Otherwise however, the colours are very much the same as Zexal canon, with perhaps a little more red in the scheme. Of course, instead of a D-Pad, Astral has Yuuma's head on his hand.
Rio KamishiroRio takes the place of Luna Shirogane, making her the Class president of Astral's class, as well as the one who forces him to attend classes again.

She is also thus the one who is taken as host by Ophiuca, though the serpent is soon deleted and expunged from her body (mostly).
Rio is ten years old, much like many of the humans Astral knows. Despite this, she appears to wear something quite similar to her typical canon outfit!
Ryoga KamishiroRyoga appears as himself in the AU, however, due to the AU storyline, has a dramatically altered backstory, even considering the Starforce storyline.

As Rio's twin brother, he was one of those caught in the car crash that happened when he and his sister were six years old. While their parents escaped with minor injuries, and Rio herself eventually recovered from hers, however, Ryoga himself would slip into a coma.

This coma has only very, VERY recently been broken, and thus, Ryoga is still bedridden in the hospital.

Of additional note is that due to spending four years comatose, he acts somewhat young for his age, and seems more open than he was in canon. (The fact that he's quite exhausted because of the coma however, tones the extremeness of this down.)
Ryoga, like his sister, is 10 years old. In addition, as he is currently a hospital patient, he's dressed in scrubs.

Of fairly important note is that, due to the fact that he spent four years of his life in a coma, he's rather frail compared to canon.
Gilag'Kiraku Souhachi'
Gilag--rather, Kiraku--replaces 'Gonta' in this AU, one of Luna's, and later Subaru's, friends from school. As such, he is briefly possessed by an FMian being, and made to fight with Rockman.
As a 10 year old boy, Kiraku is not nearly as muscled as canon, instead appearing to be a remarkably tall child. Additionally, as he actually has parents to regulate this sort of thing, he doesn't have a mohawk just yet, instead merely brushing his hair up into a small fake one.
Tetsuo Takeda'Tetsuo Fire'
Taking 'Ox's place in the AU, it's worth noting that Tetsuo already bears the 'Fire' part of his name from 'Ox Fire' (which was the name of the wavechange form.). This is because, when merged with Gilag, the name instead becomes 'Iron Fire', referring to the kanji used in Tetsuo's canon name.
Being an FMian, Tetsuo resembles the canon 'Ox', more than anything. The exception to this is that he appears somehow more 'bulky', to resemble his Zexal self a little more, and additionally, the energies around his head curve into a shape resembling his hair.

When taking the form of 'Iron Fire', their form physically resembles Gilag's canon Barian Form, in regard to physique, though the face is still quite bovine.
Durbe(Surname Pending)
Durbe replaces Kizamaro in the AU, though he's still notably 'himself'. He is the only one of Astral's age-group friends that isn't possessed by an FM being.
Merely ten years old, Durbe is quite small, and often carries around a large 'book' with him (actually a digital system which far out-powers the standard Transer device).
Fuuya OkudairaTaking the place of Utagai in this AU, Fuuya is now a scientist at 'HOPEKEN', and a rather prolific inventor. However, his anxiety has spiked in this AU, with his confidence rising only slightly once the mess of 'Cygnus' is dealt with.As Fuuya is an adult, he's notably taller, though still frail and slim in appearance. He also dresses as the scientist he is, and lacks earrings.
ESPer Robin'Cygnus'
Curiously enough, while Cygnus is due to return as well, he is the only one of the FMians in the AU to not retain his Zexal name. This is because his partner is technicaly the same person he is; however, while Fuuya represents the real Fuuya, Cygnus himself represents the persona of 'ESPer Robin', and is thus still 'Cygnus' himself.
An FMian being, Cygnus resembles his Starforce self in nearly everyway, though when wave-changed as 'ESPer Cygnus', he bears a mask instead of a beaked helm.
Ena'Ena Hoki'
'Hoki' comes from the first two kanji that form 'Astral Being', more precisely, the two which would make 'Astral'.

Within this AU, Ena takes the place of Misora, a child popstar, and good friend to Subaru. Thus, she herself takes a similar role, playing music to fans, and helping Subaru in battle occasionally.
As a human, ten year old girl, Ena already looks quite different from canon, however, in order to keep her from resembling Mirai and Astral too much, she has red eyes, and the blue of her hair is turned closer to violet.

Additionally, she keeps her hair somewhat short--her mother (deceased, as in Starforce canon), resembled Ena's canon self far more, strangely enough.
Cathy'CAT'
Despite the name, she is still referred to as 'Cathy' by her partner.

Cathy replaces Harp in the AU, and despite a continued affinity for cats (right down to being able to somewhat control them with music!), she otherwise plays the same role as the 'harp'. She acts much more like her canon self however, and this even stretches to her crush on Yuuma.
As the FMian who resembles a Harp, very little about Cathy changes from the Starforce Canon. She seems to have spectacle marks over her eyes however, and additionally, her 'ears' as the harp resemble cat ones.

When merged with Ena to form 'Kyatto Note', Ena greatly resembles Cathy's canon self, with her hair even staining silver, and her costume bearing cat ears and a tail. Their colour scheme is mostly blues however, and Ena gains a gold visor as opposed to a pair of glasses.
Takashi Todoroki'Libra'
Takashi takes 'two roles' in this AU, one as 'himself', and the other as the FM being 'Libra'. As himself, he replaces Ikuta, Subaru's school teacher. As Libra, he of course takes the place of the scales, possessing his human counterpart and battling through him.

In regard to personality, the two are quite similar, though Libra appears to personify Takashi's more manipulative side.
As a school teacher, Takashi is distinctly taller, and more obviously adult. Even so, his clothes greatly resemble the uniform he wore so often in canon!

As Libra Code, they are almost identical to the scales of canon, a fact that stretches even to Libra's own personal appearance. The exception seems to be that the two have a sort of ahoge 'spark' from the top of their heads.
Vector Vector & 'Ray'
As Vector takes the place of Tsukasa, he bears Tsukasa's 'split personality disorder', which in turn provides the personality basis for the FMian 'Gemini' (who seems to wind up just latching onto/replacing/assimilating with Tsukasa's negative persona).

Strangely enough, much like Tsukasa, it is Ray who is the 'evil' one however; this is a rather jarring fact, as Ray even uses the same voice Vector utilized during his disguise as 'Shingetsu Rei'.

Vector himself in the meantime genuinely acts similar to the 'Shingetsu' persona developed in Zexal, despite retaining the more deep tones of his voice--or at least as much as he can while being ten years old. He's somewhat more skittish, and guilty however, due to the knowledge of, and the pain caused by his other half.
As a ten year old boy, Vector resembles himself as he did in human form, albeit somewhat smaller. He dresses more similar to how his canon self did 'post-reveal', though his jacket is more often than not opened. (Though Ray seems to prefer it closed.)

As Gemini Black and White, the two mirror each other physically, with their skin going ghastly pale, and tear marks coming under their eyes. Their costumes resemble the skin of canon Vector, with Black's being predominantly Black and Grey, and White's being predominantly White and Grey.

In addition to this, their helm appears to be studded with gems, much like the headdress of Canon Vector's past life, and each of them has a wing painted on their back, one left, one right.
Tokunosuke 'Cancer'
Like Takashi, Tokunosuke plays two roles--both himself, who in this case is the replacement of Hasami, and the FM being 'Cancer', the crab.

This is because both characters have virtually the same personality (likely because one of them was developed by the anime), and it's thus easier to 'combine' the two.
Tokunosuke is somewhat younger than canon here, being a mere third grade student. Strangely enough, this likely mirrors with when his 'start of darkness' in Zexal canon was, so to say.

As it is, he dresses slightly differently in the AU, with his clothes reflecting his partnership with Cancer much more. Because of how similar the two are, these clothes pass over even to their form as 'Cancer Flip'--they both wear glasses, and both have a (somewhat ridiculous) hat and jacket combination.
Alit Alit takes the place of Ogami, a florist with a fighter's heart and soul, in this AU. As the second of three optional encounters (with Cancer being the first), the meeting with Alit is notably less diabolical in nature, with his battle encounter stemming from a need to let loose his 'bloodlust'. Alit curiously enough, resembles his canon self very much, though he's less likely to be mistaken for a child than he was in Zexal. As a florist however, he tends to wear clothing more appropriate to his career, though this sits over a uniform for fighting anyway.
Kotori'Okami'
Kotori receives her name as a 'nickname' initially, as a somewhat foolish Alit (who initially found her hiding in his Transer) is briefly under the impression that she's some sort of digital pet he picked up. He's quickly corrected, but as she rather likes the name, keeps it as her own.

Kotori takes the place of 'Wolf' in the AU, the second of three optional bosses, and a ferocious fighter--when provoked, at least. Actually the calmer of the duo, Kotori is the only FM being in the AU to be partnered with someone of the opposite sex. When questioned on this, Alit always replies that they're 'soul mates', which often results in Kotori growing flustered and hiding in the Transer for a time.
Being an FMian, Kotori resembles Wolf more than anything, though her colour scheme notably bears more greens than it does blues. Her armor is more feminine in shape as well, same as the energy flow, with her chest-piece resembling more of a 'corset', and her back arching far less than Wolf's. Her tail, along with the energy near her head, also curls according to Kotori's canon hairstyle.

In their combined form as 'Wolf Meadows', they are rather androgeynous in form, with armor curling and spiking in a sort of combined mix of appearances. At the sight of bright round objects, they enter a berserker state. (standard round things generally just trigger a building bloodlust, and a tendency to wave change, but they've come to reign that in)
Prince of Alit's Myth 'Takao'
Bearing a name with the kanji for 'king' in it, Takao replaces the spirit of Jean Couronne, but bears very little in common with the ghost. Instead, he was the childhood friend of Alit, who would often fist fight with him. They were rivals of sorts, and had vowed to have a final match to decide who was truly the 'strongest', but before they could meet, Takao was killed in an accident.

Unable to pass on, he would haunt the area he was meant to meet with Alit, eventually meeting the FMian 'Crown' and joining up with him in hopes of fulfilling his final wish. After they do, however, he decides to stay on the earthly plane a little longer, if only to keep Crown company.
Takao was around 13 when he died, and looks very much as the Prince did in canon.

When combined with Crown, their form as 'Gladiator Crown' differs very much from the canon 'Crown Thunder'. Instead, they resemble a leonine suit of Roman Gladiator's armor, with the face and limbs formed of energy beneath gold plates, and red lights for eyes.
III/Micheal Arclight 'Dragon Sky'
III takes the place of one of the AM Sages, the Satellite Admins, but he largely retains his canon personality despite this. He bears a heavy interest in human history, and it is thought that those interested in such things were drawn to choosing the 'green' transer as a result.

Now that the matters of the Numeron Code are dealt with however, he and his 'brothers' have left to assist the King of the FMians in rebuilding their planet.
For the most part, he resembles the Admin of Starforce Canon; however, he bears III's crest on the same 'hand' as in Zexal.
IV/Thomas Arclight 'Leo Kingdom'
A firey sort even now, IV takes the place of one of the wise AM Sages, though his rash nature can often disguise this. Those who were drawn to choose the 'red' transer were often those who came of unfortunate circumstance, though curiously, he also seemed to attract the selfless.

With matters of the Numeron Code dealt with, he has since left Earth to assist the FMian King in rebuilding planet AM.
Resembling the lion that he is, Leo is very much his Starforce-self, though he bears IV's crest on the same hand as his human counterpart.

He also appears to have a 'scar' over one eye, mirroring the IV of canon in that way as well.
V/Chris Arclight 'Pegasus Magic'
Though if you were to ask him, 'magic' is merely unknown science. Which he'll probably uncover. He's a rather curious sort in that regard, and being chained to the Satellite for their purpose left him somewhat stir-crazy, despite being one of the three wise AM Sages. This is perhaps why both scientists and those who were seen as indecisive, or otherwise depressed, were often drawn to choosing the 'blue' transer.

He's feeling much better now that their purpose is complete, and he and his brothers have left to rebuild AM alongside the King of the FMians.
Much like his 'brothers', Pegasus bears the crest of his Zexal counterpart, with this one being on his forehead. Otherwise, he looks virtually identical to the Pegasus of Starforce, though his mane-energy appears to be somewhat bluer, and longer.
Tron 'King Tron'
Replacing the child king Cephus (though still physically appearing to be a child), Tron's story is somewhat different here. His current physical and mental state (which mirrors the other) is actually the fault of multiple attempts on his life, which resulted in his massive reserves of energy converting and compounding into the smaller--yet more powerful--state he is in now.

Even so, he's notably less 'cruel' than the Tron of canon, as far as early Zexal goes, and strangely enough, he's actually somewhat paranoid, being manipulated by Gemini into destroying the planet AM. Thankfully he seems more in control of his decisions now.
For the most part, Tron resembles the King Cephus of canon--however, his crown is extended to resemble the mask he has, and additionally, his front-banner bears the crest of his Zexal self. Further more, the energy of his 'hair' is more controlled, resembling the braid that Tron has in Zexal.
Numeron Code The Numeron Code takes the place of 'Andromeda', a weapon of mass destruction capable of destroying entire worlds. It requires the 'Emperor's Key' to activate however, a device which Yu-UMa would steal from the planet FM.

Tron briefly directs this weapon to Earth, but it turns on its master and begins to destroy him instead; it was stopped and deleted by Astral, in both of its forms, and the key in the meantime has since been destroyed, supposedly; if not, then it is useless nonetheless, and likely been kept by Tron as a sort of trinket.

Note that not ALL of the characters on this list are filled yet--if they never will, it'll be noted, but otherwise, they'll be figured out before we reach them, don't worry!

Additionally, some characters have more than one role, in a sense--this is very rare, and generally because one or the other vanishes soon after the role is filled.

Names are shown in the following template:

'Starforce Character (Dub Name) --> Zexal Character (Alternate Name in AU/Name in Canon) --> Zexal muse's Wave Change'

Additionally, some may have a '-- (Name) --> (Name)' beneath them. This is for muses who gain Wizards later in the series, but otherwise don't wave change with them.

If you have suggestions for the blank ones by the way, don't hesitate to say so! As it is, this page will be your guide to what character is who, and that characters role in the series. Be careful though! This sheet covers the entire series as a whole, including the details on characters such as Subaru; not everything listed beneath a name will necessarily have happened yet in Astral's world! Overall, this is more a reference for those unfamiliar with the Megaman Starforce series.

Many thanks to Gale (em-exceeds-change-zearu) for compiling the vast majority of this information!

I put way too much thought into this. )
